Obviously, reality TV-like action will get attention, but since most webcam feeds are uploaded instantly, the action can be very limited.
Perhaps it's the allure of the benign that pulls so many people to watch everyday life that happens somewhere else. Maybe folks are sick of watching inane drama. Perhaps we just want to be reassured that when they live a quiet, uneventful life, full of little mistakes and small instances of forgiveness, we're normal, too.
